Sweat and friction, for example when using tools, can also cause the print to wear over time. Although high quality print ensures that labels last under these conditions, you can extend their lifespan by several years.
UV resistant labels
How do you make labels UV resistant? By applying an extra UV laminate over the label. This additional layer not only protects the print from UV radiation but also shields the label from friction or chemicals.
Why are laminates about 1 mm smaller than labels?
To be precise, the protective laminate is 1.5 mm smaller than the label. This ensures that the laminate remains securely in place for years and keeps the label free from dirt. If the laminate were the same size or larger than the label, dirt would accumulate between the two over time. That is exactly what you want to avoid with a protective laminate. In addition, applying the label becomes much easier when there is a small margin around it.
