In 1994, current director Dennis de Vries joined what was then ALTEC Electronica, and in 2002 he became the company’s director. At that time, Altec was located on Veerdam in Papendrecht. The team, just four people back then, worked in an office attached to a residential house. As the company grew, a larger building was needed, leading to a move to Burgemeester Keijzerweg 18A.
A few years later, this location also became too small, and in 2008 the decision was made to move to Nieuwland Parc. Around the same time, the company name was changed to ALTEC industrial identification, as it better reflected the product range. By then, Altec had long since shifted away from assembly work, focusing instead on the identification solutions that we still provide today.
Between 2008 and 2020, Altec experienced significant growth, both in revenue and in staff. The team expanded from fewer than ten employees at Burgemeester Keijzerweg to around 50 people, spread across two locations in two countries. On January 1, 2005, Altec joined forces with the Belgian company Impuls. For many years, Impuls had been an important partner in the field of industrial coding in Belgium and, since 2013, has proudly operated under the Altec name.
Ultimately, Altec’s continued growth led to the opening of a new, larger, and more sustainable company building at Nieuwland Parc in 2020. The new facility is a far cry from the small annex and outdoor restroom of the first location where it all began. It offers a beautiful space to welcome clients, a spacious warehouse, and ample room for future expansion in the years to come.
After decades, Altec continues to uphold the same vision: everything revolves around the customer, and we go to great lengths to meet their needs. This commitment is supported by on-site installation of our printing systems, integration with existing customer systems, and our free technical support.
